Background Musician

€900,00
Select Title

This drawing is a contemporary reinterpretation of Frans Hals' masterpiece The Lute Player (1623), focusing on the expressiveness of the musician's face. Here, the face is transformed into a visual map that moves in the direction of his gaze, a gaze that is focused neither on his instrument nor on the immediate scene, but on a point outside the frame.

The work captures a moment of complicity in which the musician seems to cede prominence to an external force, a centre that envelops him and around which everything seems to revolve. The mind is given over to the moment and Frans Hals seems to notice those details that gravitate around a centre.

In this reinterpretation, the musician's face is broken down into fluid channels, made of wine that spill from the central part of the face, evoking a feeling of intoxication and surrender to the moment. Everything in the work flows to the rhythm of the loose bodies in the crowd.

The piece is created using fine art Giclée printing, using water-based pigmented inks on 310-gram Hahnemühle William Turner paper, a material that ensures exceptional quality and durability in printing.

The work is unique and unrepeatable, subtly retouched by hand with wax pencil and signed by the author, which certifies its authenticity and exclusivity.

No additional copies will be made of the work , guaranteeing that every detail is a genuine and unrepeatable expression.

The piece measures 60 x 80 cm . It does not include a frame and will be sent in a sealed tube with the necessary security so that it arrives in perfect condition.

The image of the work will be used solely for self-promotion purposes, thus preserving the exclusivity of its acquisition.
