A study of the sonic reverberation produced when a stone strikes a head.
Goooong is a graphic study that reflects on the traumatic encounter between a stone, a skull, and the sonic reverberation produced by the blow.
The project is conceived as a mechanism of action designed to generate a sound, much like a winemaker crafting a wine. The winemaker selects structural ingredients in order to produce the substance. But what sounds are appropriate to compose the expression of this traumatic encounter? Is it music? Is it the beginning of a revolution? Is it something productive, like Newton’s apple? Or is it something erratic, like the bullet that grazed Trump’s ear?

The project revolves around the concept of shielding. That which does not fracture under any circumstance. An institution rooted in an untouchable foundation. A hyper-mineralized skull capable of withstanding any impact and remaining unmoved inside its bunker, secure in the knowledge that no fissure can be opened. And, of course, obedient to what has already been written, because it is written in stone.
The only thing one can expect from this traumatic encounter is a sonic reverberation. A sound that emerges spontaneously. A trace.
It should be said that the project begins with the Gongman from the famous opening logo of The Rank Organisation films. From that vibration, we move into the story of how David defeated Goliath not through strength alone, but through cunning, precision, and a lesser weapon. In this way, a model of power based on mass, armour, intimidation, and gigantism falls away. Another form of power appears in its place. David represents an apparently minor resonance that nevertheless inaugurates a different logic. The blow initiates a shift in meaning. A hope.

The projectile disguises itself as something beautiful that, once set in motion, becomes a lethal gong. The designer turns into a gunslinger who, in his spare time, customizes bullets.
The stone, shaped by drawing, becomes the engine of a new order. Its aim is to be thrown and to produce a collision against what is perpetual and established. To design the stone that will make the enormous heads of statues resonate. To make them sound in the night and open the windows of those sleeping too comfortably.
Indeed, my task here is to design a mechanism that activates veiled sounds. To design by ear, and for this to become a vibration that carries us toward madness. Not to damage heads, but to enter into some kind of reason.
Goooong is a small gesture meant to hear the creaking of skulls that have kept their windows shut. To turn ink into stone, just as a symbol can turn into a weapon of annihilation. To design new tools, not to raise statues, but to descend into the infernos of dormant thought.
When everything has already become design, it is time to pick up a stone and throw it at the giant’s head. To hear how it sounds in its reverberation.
