"A designer is an intruder who opens doors to see how the world works."

About
Martin Satí is a graphic designer and art director. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville and completed his training in Winchester, United Kingdom. Over the years, he developed a colourful and recognisable illustration style that allowed him to collaborate with national and international brands such as McDonald’s, Google, HP, AT&T, IBM, Pink Lady, National Nederlanden, Deloitte, Samsung, Apple, Beefeater, Harper’s Bazaar and Osborne, among others.
Alongside his personal practice, he collaborates as a designer and art director at Bassali Comunicación.
Martin Satí functions as an experimental space, where design opens up to painting, digital creation, drawing and materials closely linked to the craft of design. His work seeks collaborations with projects, institutions and organisations that understand design as a meeting place between disciplines, processes and different ways of seeing.
He lives, works, and studies in Triana.
Philosophy
His working philosophy begins with graphic design as a craft: its tools, its images, its formats and its ways of producing. From there, Martin brings together techniques, materials and disciplines to observe what happens when things are placed in relation to one another. He does not expect design to explain everything, but rather to open up situations, shift its usual function and allow forms to emerge that were not entirely planned.
To use the craft of design without allowing that craft to close down the experience.
Vision
His vision is oriented towards a less obedient form of design, one more attentive to what happens at the margins. He works with accessible materials and approachable processes, and seeks collaborations capable of taking design into territories shared with culture and research. The key to Martin’s work is that the piece does not have to “say something” in the traditional sense. It does not represent a landscape, an emotion or an idea. Rather, it creates a situation in which something appears.
He does not seek to move away from design, but to expand its possibilities from within.
Don’t worry, we’re serious people.
We have a way of doing things that lets us fly high while keeping our feet on the ground.
